USING THE VA FLIGHT TRAINING BENEFIT | YOU EARNED IT!

YOU’VE WORKED HARD FOR YOUR VA BENEFITS. THEY WERE EARNED THROUGH SERVICE AND DEDICATION. NOW IT’S TIME TO PUT THEM TO USE TO BE MOST EFFECTIVE FOR YOUR FUTURE WITH Pureflight Aviation TrainingS’ VA APPROVED FLIGHT TRAINING PROGRAM.

We’re a lean and mighty team of pilots, gearheads, veterans, and logistics experts who continue to actively support military through flight training.

When I first got out of the Military it was very hard for me to find a school that could use my GI Bill® for flight training.

SO HOW EXACTLY DO YOU USE YOUR BENEFITS…

As a Veteran, service member, or qualified family member, the VA can help pay for flight training to advance your pilot qualifications.

This benefit is available to those who qualify for the Post 9/11 GI Bill®, Montgomery GI Bill®, Reserve Educational Assistance Program (REAP), or Vocational Rehabilitation. To find out if you qualify, https://www.va.gov/education/how-to-apply/

POST-9/11 GI BILL® (CHAPTER 33)

The Post-9/11 GI Bill® is the most commonly used veterans benefit here at Pureflight Aviation Training. You will feel right at home among students and instructors who have served in all branches of the military.

There are two avenues to use your Post-9/11 GI Bill®; train direct with us as an Approved Vocational Part 141 Pilot School or through our partnership with Klamath Community College’s Aviation Degree Program. Each one has its place depending on your goals.

STAND ALONE PART 141 PILOT SCHOOL

You can come train with us a stand-alone Part 141 pilot school. The VA will reimburse for the net cost of training up to a yearly limit, currently not to exceed $15075.05 per academic year August to July (depending on your level of eligibility and remaining entitlement). You will not be eligible for a housing allowance or money for books and supplies.

To be eligible, you must:

  • Have a private pilot’s license, and
  • Have a Second-Class Medical Certificate (or a First-Class Medical Certificate if pursuing an ATP Certificate).

Courses include:

Commercial/Instrument
Certified Flight Instructor
Certified Flight Instructor Instrument
Turbine Transition (Bell 206B3 or L4)
External Load (Bell 206B3 or L4)

COLLEGE: ASSOCIATES IN AVIATION SCIENCE

Pureflight Aviation Training contracts with Klamath Community College to provide the helicopter and airplane flight training for their aviation degree program so you can use your Post-9/11 GI Bill® directly through the college. This partnership allows students to obtain an associate’s degree while completing your flight training with us. Classes can be taken online, offering students the opportunity to train at either our Newberg or Klamath Falls location. As an Institute of Higher Learning, the VA will pay All Tuition and Fee Payments (depending on your level of eligibility and remaining entitlement).

You may also be eligible to receive:

  • a monthly housing allowance sent to you
  • a books and supplies stipend sent to you
  • a one-time rural benefit for certain veterans
